Work: Remodeling of bathrooms in Retreat Center

With the aim of continuing to improve the services offered, the call for tenders and receipt of offers for the total modification and remodeling of the bathrooms at the José Kentenich Retirement Home were carried out.

In total, 47 bathrooms will be intervened, corresponding to pavilions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The work to be carried out includes the disassembly of the existing bathrooms and the assembly of new fixtures, floors and tiles. In addition to the verification of a correct installation of water and drains.

For the call for tender, a highly detailed specification sheet was attached, which included plans with specifications, a list of artifacts and accessories necessary for the modifications. The list of requirements that formed part of the documentation presented to the bidders was previously drafted by the professional members of the FJK Infrastructure Committee.

In addition, it was considered that there may be differences in the dimensions between the bathrooms of the different pavilions, for this reason it was requested that the quote be offered in unit prices, that is, cost per bathroom.

It is expected that the intervention of the bathrooms in the different pavilions will be carried out in stages, so as not to affect the calendar of activities that the Retirement House already has. The works will be carried out by pavilions within an estimated period of 30 calendar days per pavilion.

The reception of offers was in charge of Eng. Hugo Silguero, Eng. Víctor Romero and Azucena Viveros, who on February 3 proceeded to open the envelopes containing the proposals presented by the companies that participated in the price contest.

The result of this Price Contest was presented to the Board of Directors of the Foundation for its consideration, emphasizing the defined criteria, subject to the list of requirements and taking into account the good background of the bidders, reaching the final decision to award the project at the price lower, thus granting the execution of the work to the company MOTT CONSTRUCCIONES.

On Wednesday, March 15, the official signing of the contract was carried out to start the works from Monday, March 20.
